He calls on the phone at the Krusty Krab, but hangs up because he is nervous. He so far makes his biggest role in his debut. He was firstly designed as a one time character for "Graveyard Shift" and he later makes a notable but minor cameo in the season 10 episode, " Snooze You Lose." In season 12, he became one of the incidental characters.

Incidental 189 has made only two appearances in the series so far. Incidental 189 outside the Krusty Krab, with his nose lit red for an unknown reason, with SpongeBob and Squidward confusing him for the Hash-slinging slasher. He also has eyebrows and holds his spatula from "Graveyard Shift." He is a 3D video game model of Incidental 189. He also has a large nose with two nostrils located on the front that resemble angry eyes. He wears round glasses and a purple shirt.
He is a odd looking light green fish with pimples and two dark green dinosaur like spikes on his back. The Script viewer of “Graveyard Shift” showing that Incidental 189 was named Richard in that episode. In SpongeBob's Truth or Square, he is named and labeled as Hervy.In the Script Viewer special feature on The Complete 2nd Season, The Complete Second Season and The First & Second Seasons DVDs and the credits of "Graveyard Shift," his name is Richard.
